The death of Miss Willa ALLISON, which occurred at her home in Whitneyville on Friday, was heard of with deep regret by her many friends and classmates, following an illness of seven weeks. She was taken suddenly ill with appendicitis, when she was taken to the Miramichi hospital and underwent an operation from which she never recovered. She was removed to her home just one week ago.<br /> Deceased was 17 years of age and a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. William ALLISON, who passed away several years ago. Deceased was in her final year at Harkins High School at Newcastle, being a student at that school for her last two years and residing with her cousin, Mrs. Robertson ALLISON. For five years previous, she made her home with her aunt, Mrs. Edward DUNNETT, in Duluth, Minn. and attended school there. She was a very lovable girl and will be greatly missed among her schoolmates, with whom she was a general favorite. <br /> She is survived by eight brothers and one sister: Raymond and James, of Port Arthur, ON, Allan, Douglas, Russell, Robert, Ernest, Wheelock and Mrs. Edward DUNNETT, all at home.<br /> Funeral was held Sunday afternoon at 2 oclock and was very largely attended. Services at the home were conducted by Rev. William Girdwood of the United Church, Red Bank. The choir sang the hymns: Face to Face and Does Jesus Care. Mrs. W. J. McLean sang: There is No Night There. Interment was in the United Church Cemetery, Whitneyville. <br /> Pallbearers were: Edward DUNNETT, Gordon ALLISON, Harry ALLISON, James SHERRARD, and Lloyd MUTCH. <br /> The floral tributes were beautiful and many.<br /> Source: North Shore Leader - November 5, 1929 [courtesy of Dianne Mullin]
