Dad passed away peacefully to make his final journey to join our Mom in heaven during the early morning hours of Dec. 03, 2011. Ned was predeceased by his wife of 42 years, Mary LAWLOR [McALLISTER] in 2002. <br /> Father to seven children: Mary Theresa LAWLOR [Aaron], Tony LAWLOR [Sherri], Lucy LAWLOR [Richard], Tim LAWLOR [Donna], Melissa OCONNOR [Lorne], Mary- Anne LAWLOR and Marcella LAWLOR PAQUETTE [Dave]. <br /> He was one of nine children and was predeceased by his parents, James LAWLOR and Marcella [nee BURNS] LAWLOR, of Red Bank, New Brunswick.<br /> Brother of Mary-Ann, Carmel [Gerry] Corinne, Joe [Gracie] and Jimmy [Connie], all of New Bruswick. <br /> Ned was predeceased by his brothers, Francis [Shirley], Aloysius; and his sister, Theresa [Jackie]. <br /> Grandfather to: Ashley, Vanessa, Hilary, Jaime, Zoe, Chelsea, Alessandra, Kallie, Millicent, Olivia, Lilly, Quintan & Kierra; and great-grandfather to Kaylor. <br /> Ned was born and raised in Red Bank, New Brunswick and it was there that he began his life long career in the mining industry. He began work at the Heath Steele Mines in Newcastle, New Brunswick then moved to Elliot Lake in Northern Ontario in 1957 to work at Stanrock Mine. In 1965 he moved his family to South Porcupine where he began work at the Kidd Creek Mine until his retirement. Until his recent illness, Ned volunteered actively in the community in various capacities such as the Arthritis Society and The Knights of Columbus. He will always be remembered for his kind and gentle nature, great story telling ability, sense of humour, hopefulness for the Toronto Maple Leafs, devotion and commitment to family, friends and community, an unwavering work ethic, and above all his deep and abiding faith.<br /> In remembrance of Dad, donations may be made to the Arthritis Society or House of Kin. Visitation will be held at the Stinson Funeral Home on Monday, December 5th from 2:00-4:00 p.m. and 7:00-9:00 p.m. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at St. Joachims Parish, South Porcupine, on Tuesday, December 6th at 11:00 a.m. Arrangements entrusted to Stinson Funeral Home, 100 Bruce Ave., South Porcupine [705] 235-2900. <br /> Source: Timmins Daily Press - December 05, 2011 [courtesy of Ann Moriarty]<br /> Source: Miramichi Leader - December 09, 2011
