Mrs. Anna M. KENNY, of 61 St. Andews St., Chatham, wife of William J. KENNY, died Wednesday, May 3, 1989 at Hotel Dieu Hospital after a lengthy illness. Born in Douglasfield, she was a daughter of the late Edward and Josephine [POWER] FLYNN. A retired registered nurse, she graduated from Hotel Dieu Hospital School of Nursing in 1945 and was employed at the hospital for almost 25 years. She was nursing supervisor for several years. She was a member of the Retired Nurses Association.<br /> Besides her husband, she is survived by four sons: Daniel, of Oromocto, Joseph, of Chatham, Brian, of Salisbury, and Edward, of Minto; a brother, Carl, of Grand Falls; a sister, Mrs. Jean DONOVAN, of Fairport, N.Y.; and 10 grandchildren.<br /> The body rested at her residence. Funeral mass was celebrated Saturday morning at St. Michaels Basilica, Chatham, with Fr. Leon Creamer officiating, assisted by Rev. J.R. King, Rev. B.M. Broderick and Rev. D. Melanson.<br /> The active pallbearers were: Ken WALLS, Donald KENNY, Stephen MacDOUGALL, Bill McINTOSH, Arnold FLYNN and Bud RIGLEY. The honorary pallbearers were: Boyd WILLISTON, Stephen QUINN, Tom POWER, Terrance POWER, George MacDONALD, Johnny FLANAGAN, Staff PITRE and Raymond FLYNN.<br /> Members of the Retired Nurses Association formed a guard of honor at the church. Interment was in the church cemetery. Arrangments were in the care of Mahers Funeral Home, Chatham.<br /> Source: Northumberland News - May 10, 1989
