Sarah Marie (CURRY) ADAMS passed away on December 29, 2013 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital. Born in Neguac, NB on July 24, 1925, she was the daughter of the late Asma and Joseph CURRY.
She is survived by one daughter, Debbie FOSTER; one sister, Theresa LeBRETON, of Oshawa, ON; grandchildren, Thomas and Rebecca FOSTER; son-in-law, Andrew FOSTER, of Fredericton, and many niece and nephews.
Predeceased by both parents; husband, Vincent ADAMS; brother, Solomon CURRY; sisters, Rosalie LOSIER and Cecile SAWYER.
Sarah started her career at an early age working with her parents running their general store in Neguac, NB.
After many years her travels led her to Hamilton, ON where she worked in retail. Sarah returned to Richibucto, NB to open and manage her own restaurant for many years. She then moved to Fredericton where she lived out the rest of her life. Sarah was a long standing member of the CWL at her church parish - St. Dunstans Catholic Church. She kept busy with a lot of volunteer work for her church and community. Sarah was a kind lady and a hard worker. She overcame many challenges as a single parent and enthusiastically embraced all that life had to offer. She was always an active, positive and happy person who loved being on the go. She loved spending time with her CWL friends, but what mattered most to her, and was truly dear to her heart, was her deep love for her family and grandchildren, Thomas and Rebecca.
A visitation will be held at McAdams Funeral Home in Fredericton on Thursday, January 2, 2014 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Dunstans Catholic Church on Friday, January 3, 2014 at 2:00 pm. Fr. Bill Brennan will officiate. A private burial will be held at a later date in the Hermitage Cemetery. Tributes in Sarahs name may be made to the NB Heart & Stroke Foundation or towards a St. Dunstans Mass Card. www.mcadamsfh.com
