Perley Henry ALLISON, 271 Troy Ave., Newcastle, passed away on Thursday, August 8, 1996, at his residence, at the age of 63. Born in Wayerton, he was the son of the late Gordon and Jane (TOZER) ALLISON. He was a heavy equipment operator with the City of Miramichi and attended St. James and St. John United Church, Newcastle. He was a founder of the Newcastle Jaycees and a member of the Miramichi Chapters.
He is survived by his wife, Constance (BLACK) ALLISON; two sons, Gary (Mary), Newcastle, and Brian (Jeannie), Fredericton; four grandchildren: Cory, Christina, Samantha and Brittany; one niece, Shelly; one nephew, Gordon; and his sister-in-law, Patsy.
He is predeceased by a daughter, Carolyn; and a brother, Leslie.
Funeral service was held on Sunday, August 11, at St. James and St. John United Church, Newcastle, officiated by Rev. Beverly Brazier and assisted by Rev. Ronald Feltmate who read the scripture. The soloist, Ellen Franklin, and the organist, Rita Hunter, rendered: This Side of Heaven. Organist, Robert Ross, and the St. James and St. John Choir and Congregation rendered: In the Garden, Nearer My God to Thee and How Great Thou Art. The eulogy was delivered by Bob Dickson.
Active pallbearers were: Freddie BLACK, Jack CAMPBELL, Delbert WAYE, Willie McCOOMBS, Gordie ALLISON and Perley TOZER. Honorary Pallbearers were: Eldon, Laurie, Hugh, and Audrey BLACK; Edwin and Lloyd BROWN; Sterling JOHNSTON, Irvine WAYE,; Ambrose McCALLUM and Lawrence STEVENS.
Burial followed in the church cemetery.
