The death of Mrs. Mary Olive ALLISON, widow of Alexander ALLISON, Gremley Lane, Newcastle occurred on Monday, December 4, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Harold DORAN, Newcastle, after a lengthy illness. Born in Chatham Head 79 years ago, she was the daughter of the late William and Amelia [THIBODEAU] MALLEY.
She is survived by four sons: Roy, of Sutton, Coldfield, England, David and Douglas, of Newcastle, and Arnold, of Scarborough, Ontario; four daughters: Mrs. Allison PRICE [Josie], of Wolfville, N.S., Mrs. Henry CURTIS [Leona], of Toronto, Mrs. Percy BLACKMORE [Pearl] and Mrs. DORAN [Lillian], of Newcastle; four brothers: Leonard, Basil and Henry, of Chatham Head, and Joseph, of Mount St. Joseph Nursing Home, Chatham; one sister, Amelia, of Wolfville, N.S.; thirty-one grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.
Her husband predeceased her 16 years ago.
The remains rested at Davidsons Funeral Home, Newcastle, from where the funeral was held on Thursday afternoon, December 7. The service was conducted by Rev. W.R. Bowering and Mrs. Donald Johnston was organist.
The pallbearers were: William SAVAGE, Beverley BARNES, Albert MALLEY, Kenneth MALLEY, Reginald TREVORS, and Douglas RUSSELL.
The remains were placed in the receiving vault in Miramichi Cemetery to await burial in the spring.
