The death of Mrs. Ruby Jessie YOUNG, of Sunny Corner, occurred Saturday, Aug. 24 at Miramichi Hospital in Newcastle following a long illness. She was 75. Born at Sunny Corner, she was a daughter of the late James B. and Josephine [WHITE] JOHNSTON. She was a member of the Reformed Presbyterian Church in Newcastle. <br /> <br /> She is survived by her husband, Lawrence YOUNG; two sisters, Mrs. Roy MacFARLANE [Sadie], of Salem, Mass., and Mrs. Bernetta MAJOR, of New Market, N.H.; and one brother, Osborne JOHNSON, of Sunny Corner.<br /> <br /> The body is resting at Bells funeral home, Newcastle where the funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 27.<br /> <br /> Source: North Shore Leader - August 28, 1974<br /> ****************************************************** <br /> FUNERAL - <br /> <br /> The funeral for the late Mrs. Ruby YOUNG, widow of Lawrence YOUNG, of Sunny Corner, was held in Bell’s Funeral Chapel on Tuesday, August 27th. Service was conducted by Rev. S. Brown, assisted by Rev. J. Strachan and Rev. D. Codling. The organist, Mrs. Clayton Matchett, accompanied soloist, Weldon Copp. <br /> <br /> Pallbearers were; Clarke MATCHETT, Jim JOHNSTON, John MacFARLANE, John JOHNSTON, Bill ROSS and Edwin YOUNG. <br /> <br /> Interment was in the Presbyterian Cemetery at Boom Road. <br /> <br /> Source: North Shore Leader - September 04, 1974
