Mr. Ambrose YOUNG, husband of Stella YOUNG, of Winnipeg Cres., Miramichi Retirement Community, passed away at Miramichi Regional Hospital, Sat., Dec. 28, 2002, at the age of 80. Born in Sydney Mines, NS, he was the son of the late Daniel R. and Elizabeth J. [REDMOND] YOUNG. He was a retired member Canadian Armed Forces [RCAF] and was a veteran of WW II, serving overseas with the Canadian Army, in England, Italy, and France, and was a member of Branch No. 12, Royal Canadian Legion, Sydney. He attended St. Michaels Basilica, Miramichi.<br /> He is survived by his wife, Stella DesROACHES; 4 daughters: Gail SURETTE [Kevin], of Miramichi, Jane YOUNG, and Patricia GANAWAY, both of Sydney, NS, Anne KENT [Danny], of Twwasson?, BC; two sons: Daniel [Mary], of Calgary, AB, and Patrick, of Dartmouth, NS; one brother, Roy YOUNG [Perky], of Sydney Mines, NS; one step-brother, Adrian MORRISON, of Sydney Mines, NS; 4 grandchildren, as well as several nieces and nephews. <br /> He was predeceased by one brother, Basil YOUNG.<br /> The remains rested at Adams Funeral Home Ltd., 140 King St., with visiting on Monday. Members of Branch No. 3 Royal Canadian Legion, held a veterans service at the funeral home on Monday evening. Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated from St. Michaels Basilica, on Tuesday, Dec. 31, at 11 am, conducted by Father John Fraser. <br /> Pallbearers were: Daniel and Patrick YOUNG, James USHER and Wayne FITZPATRICK.<br /> Interment in Resurrection Cemetery, in Sydney, NS later in the spring. Arrangements were entrusted to Adams Funeral Home Ltd., 140 King St., Miramichi, telephone 773-3492.<br /> Source: Miramichi Leader - January 7, 2003
