Mrs. Marlene YERXA, wife of Michael TRIER, of Miramichi, passed away on Friday, August 21, 2009, at the Miramichi Hospital, at the age of 65. Born in Blackville, she was the daughter of the late Evett and Goldie [ARBEAU] COLFORD. She was a homemaker and attended St. Raphaels Roman Catholic Church, in Blackville. <br /> Marlene is survived by her husband, Michael TRIER; three daughters, Debra [Troy FRASER], of Nelson, Kim [Robert McEVOY], of Doyles Brook, and Joanne, of Saint John; one son, Robert [Sheila DUTHIE], of Doyles Brook; four sisters: Annie COLFORD, of Blackville, Dorothy McCORMACK [Malcolm], of Blackville, Minnie HOLLIER [Ernest], of Blackville, and Rena McLEAN [Billy], of Chatham; three brothers, Jimmy COLFORD, of Blackville, Floyd COLFORD, of Blackville, and Alonzo [Phyllis], of Upper Blackville; one sister-in-law, Verna Colford, of Fredericton; six grandchildren: Shawna DUTHIE, Tyler DUTHIE, Ashton FRASER, Misty YERXA, Goldie McEVOY and Jake McEVOY; one great-grandson, Hunter DUTHIE; and several nieces and nephews. <br /> Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Ronald YERXA, of Fredericton; one brother, Alferd COLFORD. and one sister-in-law, Yvonne COLFORD. <br /> The family received relatives and friends at the Father AA McKinnon Memorial Room, in Blackville, on Monday, August 24, 2009, from 7 to 9 and on Tuesday, August 25, 2009, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9. Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Wednesday, August 26, 2009, at 11 am from Our Lady of Mount Carmel, in Howards, with Father Anan Bonaventure officiating. Guitarist, Amy Jardine, led the congregation in the singing of the hymns: Amazing Grace, He Stopped Loving Her Today, How Great Thou Art and Flowers from Heaven. Readers were Wendy VICKERS, Ellie Mae COLFORD, and Goldie McEVOY.<br /> Active pallbearers were: Jake McEVOY, Robert McEVOY, Troy FRASER, Ashton FRASER, Tyler DUTHIE and Justin NASH. Honorary pallbearers were: Goldie McEVOY, Misty YERXA, Shauna DUTHIE, Allan McCORMACK, Nick KEENAN and Carolyn McCORMACK. <br /> Burial took place following the funeral in the church cemetery.
