Mrs. Frances WOULDS, wife of the late Bert WOULDS, of Mount St. Joseph Nursing Home, formerly of Nelson, passed away at the Miramichi Regional Hospital, on Thursday, April 21, 2005, at the age of 91. Born in Gaspe, Quebec, she was the daughter of the late Louie and Ada [BEATIE] LeBAIL. Frances was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Frances attended St. Marks Anglican Church and was a member of St. Marks Ladies Guild. She also taught Sunday school for many years. She was a member of the South Nelson Community Hall Association.
Frances is survived by her two sons: David [Anna], of Miramichi, and Wes, of Naniamo, BC; four grandchildren: Bruce [Anne], of Miramichi, Scott [Sherine], of Oakville, Ont., Krista and Kami DIXON, of Moncton; four great-grandchildren: Peter, Eric, Tyler, Bryanna; one brother-in-law, Melvin McLAUGHLIN; one sister-in-law, Heloise LeBAIL, and several nieces and nephews.
Besides her husband, Frances was predeceased by an infant daughter; three brothers: Carl, Lewis, and Albert; two sisters: Betty McLAUGHLIN and Hazel.
Visitation at Northumberland Funeral Home, on Saturday, April 23, from 2-4 and 7-9. The funeral service was held on Sunday, April 24, at 2 p.m. at St. Andrews Anglican Church in Miramichi, with Rev. Richard Steeves officiating, assisted by Captain Rose Steeves. Organist, Dr. Brian Matchett and St. Andrews Anglican Church Choir led the congregation in the singing of the hymns: Theres A Green Hill Far Away, and Forever With The Lord.
Honorary pallbearers were: Lorraine GAGNON, Josephine HARRIGAN, and Debbie MacDONALD. Active pallbearers were: Bruce and Scott WOULDS, George HAMBROOK, Nancy LeBAIL, Frank McLAUGHLIN, and Bobby McLAUGHLIN.
Burial took place in the Miramichi Cemetery in Miramichi. Donations may be made to the Palliative Care Unit of the Miramichi Hospital, Mount St. Joseph Nursing Home, or to the Multiple Sclerosis Society. The funeral arrangements were in the care of Northumberland Funeral Home, 102 Pleasant St. Telephone 622-7741.
