E. Davis ADAMS, of 14 Fenton Street, Miramichi East, passed away at his residence on Tuesday, Oct. 10. The remains are resting at Adam's Funeral Home (Chatham) Ltd., 140 King St., with visiting on Thursday from 7-9 pm and Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. Funeral service will be held from St. Mary's Anglican Church on Sat., Oct. 14 at 2 pm conducted by Rev. Harley Clowater, and assisted by Rev. Fred Burrill, Rev. Ron Feltmate, and Rev. Howard Anningson. Interment will be in St. Paul's Cemetery. Donations to the Shriners Hospital For Crippled Children, the regional division of the Extra Mural Hospital, or the St. Paul's Cemetery Fund would be appreciated. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Adams Funeral Home (Chatham) Ltd.
Born in Hartland, NB, E. Davis ADAMS was the son of the late Howard and Annie (DAVIS) ADAMS. He served in Canada in the RCAF during WW II. He was a member of the United Baptist Church, Hartland; attened St. Mary's Anglican Church, Miramichi; a former member of the church vestry; a member of St. Paul's Cemetery committee; a Past Master of Miramichi Lodge No. 18 F & AM and Hartland Lodge No. 46 F & AM; past president of Chatham Lions Club; a member of Miramichi Community Concert Association; a former member of District No. 10 School Board; a former member of St. Andrews United Church Boy Scout Committee; past president of the NB Funeral Directors Association; former member of Branch No. 3, Royal Canadian Legion, Chatham; a member of Prince Charles Chapter, Order of the Eastern Star; a member of the Chatham Business Development Corporation; a member of the Miramichi Chamber of Commerce.
Mr. ADAMS was involved in the funeral business most of his life, having worked with both his father and grandfather, and was a licensed embalmer for 50 years after taking his training with Collins Funeral Home, Montreal, and Brennan Funeral Home, Saint John, NB. He moved to Chatham in 1956 and established Adam's Funeral Home.
He is survived by his wife, the former Margaret GUSTAVSEN; two daughters, Astrid JOWETT (husband Christopher), of England, Christine LANGDON (husband David), of Milford, NS; three sons, Brandt (wife Donna), of Miramichi West, Allen, at home, and John (wife Tanya), of Cassilis; one sister, Mrs. Margaret ROBIDOUX, of Shediac; three grandchildren, Stephen, David and Michael; three step-grandchildren, Andrea, Beverly and Matthew; as well as several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by one brother, John; and one sister, Eleanor.

FUNERAL -
E. Davis ADAMS, of 14 Fenton St., Miramichi East, passed away at his residence on Tuesday, Oct. 10, 1995.
The remains rested at Adam’s Funeral Home, Chatham. The funeral service was held from St. Mary’s Anglican Church on Saturday at 2 pm conducted by Rev. Harley Clowater, assisted by Rev. Fred Burrill, Rev. Ron Feltmate, Rev. Howard Anningson and Fr. B. M. Broderick. Organist was David Bunnell. The joint choirs of St. Mary’s, St. John the Evangelist and St. Paul’s Anglican Churches, St. Stephen’s, Knox and Carmel United Churches, sang two hymns: Unto The Hills and For All The Saints Who From Their Labours Rest.
Honorary pallbearers were: Ernie MacLEAN, Aubrey HITCHINSON, Blair GORDON, Ian WILLISTON, Keith WILLISTON and Mel ADAMS. Active pallbearers were: Ken KEITH, Clint HAYWARD, Clarke FRASER, Murray MacDONALD, Ron MORRISON and Leon BREMNER.
A number of funeral directors from various parts of the province sat as a body, as did members of the Prince Charles Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star.
Interment was in St. Paul’s Anglican Cemetery, Lower Chatham Head. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Adam’s Funeral Home (Chatham) Ltd.
