James C. ALLISON, of Trout Brook, died Sunday, February 13, 1983 at Moncton Hospital. Born in Wayerton 84 years ago, he was a son of the late William and Helen [TURNER] ALLISON. He was a member of the Wesley United Church, Trout Brook. He was a member of Branch 90, Royal Canadian Legion, Sunny Corner, having served overseas during the First World War with the Canadian Infantry.
His wife, the former Annie DUNNETT, died 10 years ago.
He is survived by three daughters: Mrs. Harry RICHARDS [Joyce], Mrs. CROCKER [Rolla], both of Newcastle, and Mrs. James CASEMENT [Nellie], of St. Catherines, ON; three sons: Joseph, of Norton, Mass., Colin, of St. Catherines, and William, of Turlock, Calif.; two sisters: Mrs. Minnie WHITNEY, of Florida, and Mrs. Joseph WICKER [Blanche], of New Hampshire; one brother, Harry, of Douglastown; one foster-brother, Joseph JOHNSTON, of Newcastle; 29 grandchildren and 38 great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
The body rested at the slumber room of Bells Funeral Service, Newcastle. Funeral service was held Wednesday afternoon at the Wesley United Church conducted by Rev. Carmen Burns. Organist was Mrs. Eva Johnston and the hymn was: Abide With Me. Veterans and members of Royal Canadian Legion Branch No. 90, Sunny Corner held a memorial service Monday evening at the funeral home.
Pallbearers were: Allison CROCKER, Philip CROCKER, Mark RICHARDS, Perley, Weldon and Frank ALLISON.
Entombment was in the cemetery vault to await later burial in Wesley United Church Cemetery, Trout Brook. Funeral arrangements were in the care of Bells Funeral Service, Newcastle.
