The death of James [Jim] ALLISON, husband of the late Edythe Mae [HARRIS] ALLISON, of Mount St. Joseph Nursing Home, and formerly of Sunny Corner, NB, occurred on Monday, December 28, 2009, at his late residence at the age of 94. Born in Boom Road, NB, he was the son of the late Edward and Janet [CRAIG] ALLISON. Jim was a retired custodian from NSER and attended St. Stephens Presbyterian Church, Sunny Corner, NB.
Jim is survived by one daughter, Hope [Leslie FLETT], of Miramichi, NB; three sons, Lenley [Carla], of Strathadam, NB, James Dean [Patti], of Sunny Corner, NB, Cyril [Brenda], of Moncton; one brother, Alex ALLISON, of Miramichi Senior Citizens Home; granddaughters: Dawn DALEY [Joey], Dale DRISDELLE [Billy], Amanda KINGSTON [Ryan] and Tara ALLISON; grandsons: Ross ALLISON [Laura], Jamie, Luke and Evan ALLISON; great-grandchildren: Daniel and Jonathan DALEY; Andrew and Erica DRISDELLE; Tamika ALLISON; Lyla, Quinn and Ava KINGSTON, and several nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents and wife, Edythe, Jim is predeceased by one son, Currie [1975]; sisters: Gladys MULLIN and Olive DUGUAY; brothers: Edward, William, Earl, Mervin, Percy, Weldon and Gordon.
The family received visitors at Meadows Funeral Home, Tuesday, December 29, 2009 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. The funeral service was held from St. Stephens Presbyterian Church, Sunny Corner, NB on Wednesday at 2 pm with Rev. J. Gillis Smith officiating. Organist was Heather Mutch. Congregational hymn was: Abide With Me. Solo:,Does Jesus Care, by Cathy Sherrard; and solo: How Long Has it Been, by Stuart Scott. Reading of the 23 rd Psalm by great-grandchildren, Erica and Andrew DRISDELLE. Remembrance by granddaughter, Amanda KINGSTON.
Active pallbearers were grandsons: Ross, Jamie, Luke and Evan ALLISON; and Jonathan and Daniel DALEY.
Burial will take place in St. Stephens Presbyterian Cemetery, later in the spring. Donations may be made to St. Stephens Presbyterian Church Building Fund. Funeral arrangements were under the care of Meadows Funeral Home, 150 North West Road, Sunny Corner, NB. Telephone [506] 622-3600.
