The death of Joseph Roger THERIAULT, of Miramichi, NB,originally of Baie Ste-Anne, occurred at the Region 7 Hospital, on Tuesday, May 23, 2006, at the age of 59, after a courageous battle with cancer. Born in Baie Ste- Anne, Roger was the son of the late Edgar and Elmire [GIBBS] THERIAULT. Roger graduated from College Ste. Joseph in Memramcook, NB and later attended Universi te de Moncton. For most of his working life, Roger worked in the tire industry, for Good Year Tire and Michelin Tire, before returning to Baie Ste-Anne. Roger enjoyed boating, hockey, and politics. Roger enthusiastically served as a Director on the Miramichi Bay du Vin Liberal Association Executive for many years where he began and cultivated many great friendships.<br /> Roger is survived by two daughters: Tania THERIAULT [Bill SPENCER], of Bermuda, and Nomi THERIAULT-ENGLISH [Mark ENGLISH], of Miramichi; five sisters: Anne, of Fredericton, Jeanne DArc [Rudolphe DOUCET], of Baie Ste-Anne, Marie-Paule [Zenon FEDORI], of Miramichi, Chantal [Thomas DOUCETTE], of Moncton, and Brigitte [Steven DOUCET], of Baie Ste-Anne; three brothers: Paul [Edith], of Fredericton, Marc [Gemma], of Baie Ste-Anne, and Serge [Sonya], of Halifax; 18 nieces and nephews; many, many cousins, many great-nieces and great-nephews; and his pride and joy, his one granddaughter, Cassidy Celine ENGLISH.<br /> Rested at the Baie Ste-Anne Slumber Room, in Baie Ste-Anne with visitations on Wednesday, May 24th, Thursday May 25th, and Friday, May 26th, from 2 p.m. until 4 p.m., with the beginning of the funeral, which was held in Eglise Ste-Anne, with Father Stan Paulin officiating. Guitarist, Bertrande THERIAULT, led singers, Nicole THERIAULT-McINTYRE and Pierette DESPRES. Readings by Rogers sister, Anne THERIAULT; Intentions read by Rogers nieces, Annick DAIGLE, and Fannie GUIMOND.<br /> Active Pallbearers were Rogers nephews: Phil LANDRY, Rene THERIAULT, Christien THERIAULT, Andre THERIAULT, Simon DOUCETTE, Marc DOUCET, Jacques DOUCET, and Guy DOUCET. Honorary pallbearers were: Lionel GIBBS, Jules THERIAULT, Gilles THERIAULT, Pierre THERIAULT, Jeff FLANAGAN, Eugene MANUEL, Chris ONEILL, Robin MARTIN, Charla ADAMS, Marie-Alma MARTIN, and members of the Miramichi Bay du Vin Liberal Association Executive. <br /> Donations to the Canadian Cancer Society, the Palliative wing at Region 7.
