The death of Gordon W. ALLISON, of Trout Brook, occurred Sunday, March 3 at Miramichi Hospital after two months of illness. He was 66. Born at Wayerton, he was a son of the late Henry and Helen (TURNER) ALLISON. He was a carpenter.<br /> <br /> Surviving are his wife, the former Jane P. TOZER; two sons, Perley and Leslie, both of Newcastle; two brothers, Harry, of Douglastown, and James, of Trout Brook; one foster brother, Joseph JOHNSTON, of Newcastle; two sisters, Mrs. Albert WHITNEY (Minnie), in Florida, and Mrs. Joseph WICKLE (Blanche), in Massachusetts. <br /> <br /> The body rested at Bells funeral home, Newcastle, with service held on Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Wesley United Church, Trout Brook conducted by Rev. Carmen Burns. The choir was under the direction of Mrs. Donald Johnston rendered: At The Cross. A duet: Each Step I Take, was sung by Mrs. Wilbur Matthews and Ernest Dunnett.<br /> <br /> Honorary pallbearers were: George COPP, Roland WAYE, Meb ALLISON, Donald HARRIS, Thomas JOHNSTON, Earl WHITNEY, Weldon NORTON, Vernon WAYE. Active pallbearers were: John ALLISON, Edwin BROWN, Lloyd BROWN, Charles CRAMMOND, Arnold SHADDICK and Weldon WAYE.<br /> <br /> Interment was in Wesley United Church cemetery vault to await burial in the spring.<br /> Relatives and friends attending the funeral were from Moncton, St. Stephen and Hartland.<br /> <br /> Source: North Shore Leader - March 13, 1974
