Oliver SIPPLEY, of Eel River Bridge, Baie Ste. Anne, born August 9, 1911, passed away at the Miramichi Regional Hospital. He was a WW II Veteran and also a fisherman.
He is survived by his wife, Clementine DUPLESSIS; four daughters: Marie Anne SIPPLEY [Zoel], of Baie Ste. Anne, Lucille SOMERS [Scott], of Black River, Priscilla CAIN [Ronnie], of Bay du Vin, Alda ROBICHAUD [Mike], of Baie Ste. Anne; one son, Joseph SIPPLY [Rosella], of Baie Ste. Anne; 10 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren; three sisters: Virgine, Ida and Ursule.
He is predeceased by his parents, George SIPPLEY and Lucille ROBICHAUD; and five brothers and eight sisters.
Visitation held at the Baie Ste. Anne Slumberoom on Saturday, July 29 and Sunday, July 30 and on Monday from 2 p.m. till time of the funeral. Mass of Christian burial was held on Monday at 4 p.m. from Ste. Anne Roman Catholic Church with Fr. Robert Savoie officiating.
Active pallbearers were: Sylvain ROBICHAUD, Mathieu SIPPLEY, Yvon St. PIERRE, Shawn SIPPLEY, Ronald KELLY and Sylvain MARTIN. Honorary pallbearers were: Doreen MERCURE, Ghislaine DOUCETTE, Tanya DICKSON, Marsha SIPPLEY, Sophie St. PIERRE and Sophie SAVOIE.
The Royal Canadian Legion Branch #3 formed a guard of honor and held a legion service following the funeral mass. Interment was in the church cemetery. Funeral arrangements are under the care of Mahers Funeral Home, Miramichi, NB. Telephone 773-4321.
