The death of Winfield Alfred SCOTT of Francis Street and formerly of Whitneyville, NB, husband of the late Rita [DENNIS] SCOTT. Born in Strathadam, NB, Winfield was the son of the late Richard and Annie [BRACKETT] SCOTT. Winfield was a retired Truck Driver and attended St. Thomas the Apostle Roman Catholic Church, Red Bank, NB.
Winfield is survived by one brother, William [Bill] [Mary], of Strathadam; several nieces and nephews and his special nephew, Stuart SCOTT.
Predeceased by three sisters: Eloise McLEOD, Ruth McKAY and Miriam SHERRARD; and brother Wallace.
Visitation was held at Meadows Funeral Home on Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM. Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated from St. Thomas the Apostle Roman Catholic Church, Red Bank on Saturday, October 11, 2008 at 11 am with Father Dan Melanson officiating. Organist Lynn Manderson, accompanied by St. Thomas Church Choir. Hymns were: How Great Thou Art andAmazing Grace. Words of Remembrance by Stuart SCOTT [nephew]. Readings by Ashey SCOTT and Gwen McNEIL. Words of Remembrance by Eileen DENNIS.
Active Pallbearers were: Jarvis BRYENTON, Clayton SCOTT, John BRANDER, Don SAVOIE, Neil SHERRARD and Francis DENNIS.
Burial will follow in St. Thomas Roman Catholic Cemetery, Red Bank, NB. Donations may be made to the Alzheimers Society or the Canadian Cancer Society. Funeral arrangements were under the care of Meadows Funeral Home, 150 Northwest Road, Sunny Corner, NB; Telephone 836-2321 or 622-3600.
