YOUNG CHILD KILLED IN ROAD ACCIDENT <br /> An eight-month-old baby girl, Reva Charleen SAVOIE, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Elmo SAVOIE, of Hardwicke, is dead and two others injured following a two-car collision. The mishap occurred at the intersection of highway 117 and the Bay du Vin Beach Road.<br /> The driver, Mrs. SAVOIE, mother of the baby, was taken to Hotel Dieu Hospital, Chatham, suffering a broken leg. A passenger, Mrs. Emelda LLOYD, of Escuminac, sustained a dislocated shoulder. Another passenger, three-year-old Dean LLOYD, escaped injury.<br /> The accident resulted when the SAVOIE car, heading toward Newcastle from Hardwicke, was in collision with a car driven by Kenneth Williston, of RR No. 2, Black River Bridge, who was travelling on the Bay du Vin Beach Road running perpendicular to the highway. Police said Mr. Williston was unable to stop at the intersection because of icy road conditions and is reported to have slid into the path of the SAVOIE car. He escaped with minor injuries.<br /> Coroner, Dr. P.J. Losier, of Chatham, ordered an inquest but did not set a date.<br /> Besides her parents, little Reva is survived by a sister, six-year-old Deanne, and by her maternal grandmother.<br /> Source: North Shore Leader - November 28, 1973
