Mrs. Alma SAVOIE, 84, of the Mount St. Joseph Nursing Home, and formerly of Escuminac, NB, passed away peacefully on Monday, July 17, 2006, at the Miramichi Regional Hospital. Born in Escuminac, NB, she was the daughter of the late James and Margaret [RUSSELL] JIMMO. Alma enjoyed bingo and music.<br /> She is survived by her family, daughters: Coreen COOL [David], of Sarnia, Ontario, Brenda SAVOIE, of Miramichi; son, Kevin SAVOIE [Melissa], of Baie Ste-Anne; sister, Bernice CONROY, of Toronto; 18 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren. <br /> Alma is predeceased by her husband, Sylvio SAVOIE Sr.; daughter, Noella; and three sons: Wayne, Sylvio Jr., and Clarence.<br /> Visitation was held from Mahers Funeral Home, on Tuesday, July 18, from 7-9. Mass of Christian Burial was held on Wednesday, July 19, at 11 a.m. from St. Michaels Basilica with Fr. John Fraser as celebrant, and Fr. Robert Savoie, concelebrant.<br /> Active pallbearers were grandsons: Mark SAVOIE, Charles SAVOIE, Placide SAVOIE; nephews: Bliss GUIMOND, Edmond JIMMO, and Bernie PRESTON.<br /> Interment was in Ste-Anne Cemetery, Baie Ste-Anne, NB.
