The sudden death of James Wilfred RODGERS, of Sussex Corner, N.B., occurred at St. Jon Regional Hospital on May 6, 1991. Born in Sherbrooke, Que., he was educated at the Galt School, and was a miner most of his life. He moved to New Brunswick in 1964 and lived on the Miramichi for 20 years. He moved to Sussex in 1983. He was employed with P.C.A. at the time of his death. He was the son of the late Wilfred and Dorothy [GAMBSY] RODGERS, of Bury, Quebec. <br /> He is survived by his wife, Anne H. [MacLENNAN] RODGERS; and daughters, Norma Ann [Mrs. Neil STOVER], of Dartmouth, N.S., and Cynthia Margaret [Mrs. Ora KILPATRICK], of Sussex Corner; grandchildren: Alex and Kylie KILPATRICK; and Kurt and Lukas STOVER; several nieces and nephews; one brother, Sidney H. RODGERS, of Lakefield, Ontario; three sisters-in-law, one brother-in-law and his father-in-law.<br /> He was predeceased by one son, James Bruce.<br /> The body rested at Wallaces in Sussex and Davidsons Funeral Home in Newcastle. The funeral was held from St. Andrews Church, Newcastle on May 9, 1991, conducted by Rev. John Mills and Rev. Wilfred Langmaid. Organist was Mrs. Lois McKinnon. Soloist was Borden B. Davidson. Hymns sung were: How Great Thou Art and Amazing Grace. <br /> Pallbearers were: Harry WALKER, Bruce SEARLE, Frank HARRIS, Lesley KILPATRICK, Gerald TEAKLES, Rick McBETH. Honorary pallbearers were members of the Newcastle Lions Club; Jim LAWS, Ben ROBERTSON, Laurence BROWN, Lloyd GROUNDWATER, Al MINER, Al LOGAN, Paul DAWSON and Ronnie FORREST. <br /> Interment was in the Miramichi Cemetery, Newcastle.<br /> Source: Miramichi Leader - May 29, 1991
