Gerald T. BRANSFIELD, 62, of 560 Murray Ave., Bathurst, and formerly of Escuminac, died at Chaleur Regional Hospital, Bathurst. Born in Escuminac, he was a son of the late Ambrose and Frances (CARROLL) BRANSFIELD and had been in the Royal Canadian Navy for more than 17 years.<br /> <br /> He is survived by one son, Brian, of Petitcodiac; two daughters, Debora, of Riverview, and Susan, of Calgary, Alta.; and four grandchildren.<br /> <br /> He was predeceased by four brothers: Claude, Carroll, Cyril and Lee; and a sister, Mary.<br /> <br /> The body rested at Baie Ste. Anne Roman Catholic Church, from where funeral mass was celebrated Tuesday at 11 a.m.<br /> <br /> Honorary pallbearers were: Byron JIMMO, Tommy BRANSFIELD, Steven BRANSFIELD, Claude CARROLL, Steven QUINN and Omer ARSENEAULT. Active pallbearers were: Stanley, Lawrence, and Billy BRANSFIELD, Robert CARROLL and Harry and David WILLISTON.<br /> <br /> Interment in Stella Maris Cemetery, Escuminac in the spring. Arrangements were in care of Maher's Funeral Home, Chatham.<br /> <br /> Source: Miramichi Leader - March 17, 1993
