A. Alexander MILLS, of Baie du Vin Beach, died on Wednesday, May 22, 1974 at Miramichi Hospital in Newcastle following a lengthy illness. He was 68. Born in Baie du Vin, he was a son of the late Andrew B. and Mary [LOGGIE] MILLS. He worked as a fisherman, a pipefitter and carpenter before his retirement, and was a member of the pipefitters union. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family.
He is survived by a niece and nephews and a number of cousins.
The body rested at Adams Funeral Home in Chatham until the funeral service was held there on Friday afternoon conducted by Rev. Henry Boston with Rev. R.B. Barry assisting. John MacDonald was organist and hymns rendered were: Rock of Ages and The Lord Is My Shepherd.
Active pallbearers were: Wilfred WILLISTON, Donald MacMILLAN, Woodbury WILLISTON, Charles DUFFY, Hal KENNEDY and Dick KEOHAN.
Interment was in Black River Community cemetery.
