Mr. Alfred MERCURE, 77, of 5257 Route 117 Baie Ste-Anne, NB, passed away on Wednesday, August 18, 2004, at the Miramichi Regional Hospital. Born in Baie Ste-Anne, he was the son of the late Fred and Lina [MARTIN] MERCURE. Alfred worked as a woodsman and fisherman.<br /> Alfred is survived by three [four?] daughters: Adrienne MARTIN [Allison], of Miramichi, Veronica MARTIN [Moise], Rose Alma THERIAULT and Francine MAZEROLLE [Ronald], all of Baie Ste-Anne; two sons: Joel [Lorine], and Charles [Julia], of Baie Ste-Anne; sisters: Dorina MAILLET [Rene], of Massachusetts, USA, Marita WATSON [Lloyd], of Toronto, ON, Claudette JEAN JACQUES, of Montreal; brothers: Rudolphe MERCURE, Odillon MERCURE, both of Baie Ste-Anne, Hector MERCURE [Meda], of Miramichi, Allain MERCURE [Angela], of Moncton; 17 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.<br /> He was predeceased by daughters: Paulette and Ghislaine; sons: Eloi and Hilaire; sisters: Eva Delima, Neomise and Laurine; and brother, Leonard.<br /> Visitation on Thursday and Friday. Mass of Christian Burial was held on Saturday, at 11 am from Ste-Anne Roman Catholic Church, in Baie Ste-Anne, with Fr. Robert Savoie officiating. The Golden Age Club formed a guard of honor.<br /> Active pallbearers were: Claude MERCURE, Dean MARTIN, Mathieu THERIAULT, Charles THERIAULT, Darryl MAZEROLLE and Ricky MERCURE. Honorary pallbearers were: Adrien MANUEL, Daniel MERCURE, Anathase McINTYRE, François ROBICHAUD, Louis MERCURE, Marc MERCURE, George MANUEL, and Jean-Marc MANUEL.<br /> Interment was in the church cemetery.
