The death of the late Mary Elizabeth Jane ALLAN, wife of Dr. Charles ALLAN, occurred on January 21, 2004 at Miramichi Regional Hospital at the age of 63. Born in Newcastle, NB she was the daughter of the late Dr. R.H. and Mary (CALDER) MORRISSY. Jane was a member of St. Marys Roman Catholic Church, volunteer for the Miramichi Big Brothers-Big Sisters, and was involved in the Rotary Exchange Program.
Besides her husband, Jane is survived by one sister, Kathleen (Tad) DAIGLE (Paul), of Moncton, NB; two brothers, Paul (Maureen), of Fredericton, NB, (Dick) Richard (Milena), of Vancouver, BC; four nephews: Sean MORRISSY (Nadine), of Fredericton, NB, Dick DAIGLE (Kim), of Saint John, NB, David DAIGLE (Astrid), of Ottawa, ON, Robert DAIGLE (Andrea), of Halifax, NS; and one niece, Kate MORRISSY, of Fredericton, NB; a godson, Paul ADAIR; five step-children: Nancy BURRIDGE (Ed), of Sackville, NB, Chip ALLAN (Jennifer), of London, ON, Margaret EDDY (Allan), of Dartmouth, NS, James ALLAN (Elaine), of Montreal, QB, Mary Lou SAURO (Steve), of Newton, Mass; 16 grandchildren; and several grand-nieces and nephews.
She is predeceased by her first husband, Andrew RETFALVYHADEN.
There will be no visitation. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday at 11 AM with Father Sam Diotte officiating. Donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or to Big Brother-Big Sisters. Arrangements under the care of Bells Funeral Home, 651 King George Highway, Miramichi, NB.
