Irenee MARTIN, husband of Mrs. Elmire [FORBES] MARTIN, of 12 Bayview North, Baie-Ste-Anne, NB, passed away Wed., March 30, 2005, at Miramichi Regional Hospital, at the age of 79. Born in Baie-Ste-Anne, NB, he was the son of the late Edward and Rosanne [ROBICHAUD] MARTIN. He formerly worked in the fishing industry, and was a member of Ste. Annes Roman Catholic Church, Baie-Ste-Anne, NB. He was a WW II veteran and a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch No. 3, Chatham, NB.<br /> Besides his wife, he is survived by three daughters: Robea DeWITT [Gary], of Baie-Ste-Anne, NB, Leona MARTIN, of Ottawa, ON, Sophia MARTIN [Colin THERIAULT], of St. Louis, NB; three sons: Elvery MARTIN [Seraphie], Daniel MARTIN [Danna], all of Baie-Ste-Anne, Ti MARTIN [Katherine], Miramichi, NB; two sisters: Therese DURELLE [Yvon], Laurinda MARTIN [Gerard], all of Baie-Ste-Anne, NB; 13 grandchildren: Michel, Rene, Christopher, Natalie, Simon, T.J., Andre, Sophie, Renaud, Jolyn, Sarah, Rebecca, Calixte; six great-grandchildren: Janna, Cody, Brianne, Caleb, Craig, and Erika.<br /> Besides his parents, he was predeceased by one son, Neil; one sister, Celine; 2 brothers, Edgar & Clement.<br /> Rested at the Baie-Ste-Anne Slumber Room with visitation on Thurs., Fri., and Sat. Mass of Christian Burial celebrated Sat., April 2, at 11 am from Ste. Annes RC Church, Baie-Ste-Anne, NB, with Father Robert Savoie officiating. Eulogy by Colin Theriault. Readings by granddaughters, Sarah and Sophie HACKETT. Flower bearer was granddaughter, Natalie MARTIN. Following the mass, a Legion Service was conducted by Ernest Durelle with flag-bearers Eloi Durelle and Cleve Joudry, accompanied by Bill Hilchey playing bugle. <br /> Active pallbearers were: Francis MARTIN, Rene MARTIN, T.J. MARTIN, Renaud MARTIN, Andre MARTIN, Michel MARTIN. Honorary pallbearers: Hubert MAZEROLLE, Blondine MAZEROLLE, Bobby MARTIN, Mark MARTIN, Clement MARTIN, and Antine MANUEL.<br /> Arrangements were in care of Davidsons Funeral Home [622-7464] <br /> Source: Miramichi Leader - April 7, 2005
