Mr. Elmer MARTIN, of Baie Ste Anne, passed away peacefully on Wednesday Nov 14, 2007 at the Miramichi Regional Hospital at the age of 70. Born in Baie Ste Anne the son of the late Edmond and Mina [McINTYRE] MARTIN. He was a retired fisherman.<br /> He is survived by his companion of many years, Joan Ann MARTIN; his children; Dorine MANUEL [Melvin], of Irish town, NB, Shirley PARISE [Ted], of Dieppe, Bernice DURELLE [Buff], of Bay Du Vin, Elmer MARTIN Jr. [Christina], of Miramichi; his grandchildren; Victoria GREGAN, Coulton DURELLE, Collin GREGAN, Philip MARTIN, Rebecca GREGAN, Jean-Nicholas PARISE; step-children: Edward, Gerald and Michael MARTIN [Connie]; step-grandchildren; Tiffany, Jordan, Brianna and Brittany MARTIN; brothers; Neri [Regina], Hilairion [Ludovine], Blair [Carol], Zoel [Diane], and Edmond [Louise] MARTIN; sisters: Irene [Yvon] GINGRAS, Lauretta [Elphege] SIPPLEY, Elva [Guy] SAVOIE; sisters-in-law; Hermine and Beatrice McINTYRE; and brother in law, Keith MOTT; several nieces and nephews. <br /> He is predeceased by wife, Edith MANUEL; sisters: Suzanne DAIGLE and Clara MOTT; brothers; Edgar McINTYRE and Oran MARTIN.<br /> Visitation at the Baie Ste Anne Slumberoom in Baie Ste Anne on Thursday, Nov. 15th 7-9 and on Friday, Nov. 16th from 2-4 & 7-9. Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Saturday Nov. 17th at 11 a.m. from St. Anne Church in Baie Ste Anne with Fr. Robert Savoie officiating. <br /> Active pallbearers were: Collin GREGAN, Coulton DURELLE, Valmond MARTIN, Wade McINTYRE, Gregoire DAIGLE and Denis GINGRAS. Honorary pallbearers were: Loronzo COLETTE, Fabien MANUEL, Rudolphe MERCURE, Alphonse DOUCET, Daniel McINTYRE, Theodore WILLISTON, Rosaline DURELLE, Adrien MANUEL, Lucie-Anne McINTYRE, Nora MARTIN, Cyril MANUEL and Noella HEBERT.<br /> The Golden Age Club formed a guard of Honor.
