1770-1851<br /> APPLEBY, BENJAMIN: born about 1770 believed in the USA and died in 1851 at the home of his daughter, Mrs Mary Vye at Wilson’s Point. He married Jane Rogers, widow of George Hubbard, about 1801 in No Co, NB. It is believed she was born along the South West Miramichi and died 1823 in North Esk Parish.<br /> <br /> Benjamin was a son of one of the Loyalist Applebys, five of who settled on Lake Washademoak, Queens Co, NB in 1785. In July of 1801 he purchased Lot 19 at South Esk, in 1808 he received a grant of Lot 4 in Strathadam, but lived on an adjacent lot during most of his years in North Esk. Benjamin and Jane had five children of their own as well as raising the children from Jane’s first marriage.

Rebecca, born after 1801, Strathadam, died 14 March 1825 in No Co, NB. Rebecca is buried at Wilson’s Point.<br /> <br /> Mary, born c 1805, Strathadam, died 15 July 1864. She married John Vye on 29 August 1822, No Co, NB. They resided in Lower Derby. Mary is buried at Wilson’s Point.<br /> <br /> William Henry, born c1811, Strathadam, NB, died between 1848-1851. He married Jane Redmond (c 1810-1876). William and Jane raised a family in Nelson Parish. They had eight children.<br /> <br /> Jane McCullam, born 18 December 1814, died 20 April 1880 married Henry Charles Vye, son of Charles and Hannah Vye. Henry was born in 1802 in Nelson and died on 29 June 1871. Henry and Jane had nine children and they are buried at St. Paul’s Anglican Cemetery, Bushville-Miramichi.<br /> <br /> Benjamin Davis, born 8 February 1817, likely on Southwest Miramichi.<br /> <br /> Date of Arrival: 1782 from the United States.
