JOHN’s (T) ON (E), WILLIAM: born about 1795 in Robinson, Maine and died in March 1869 at Renous. Upon coming to N.B. he married Elizabeth Newman, daughter of David and granddaughter of John Newman, a Loyalist who had served at Lot 8 along the Renous River. In the 1861 Census for Northumberland County William is described as a farmer and a lumberman. The family was Presbyterian.

George, born about 1822. He died in 1869 one day before his father’s death. He was 46 years of age and a lumberman.
John, born about 1824 and died after 1881, lumberman. On 17 September 1859, John married Catherine Sutherland, daughter of Alexander & Jane Sutherland who came to NB from Scotland about 1821. John and Catherine purchased Lot 7 at Renous. They had nine children. Catherine was born 7 February 1835 and died 27 January 1902. John and Catherine are buried in St Stephen’s (old) Presbyterian Cemetery at Red Bank.
Mary Ann born about 1830 and died after 1891. She is described in the 1861 census as a weaver. She married Ebenezer Allan Travis, grandson of Jeremiah Travis, a Loyalist with the Loyal American Regiment who came to N. B. from New York about 1790. They lived on the family property at Lyttleton. They had no family.
Phoebe born about 1835 and died 1885. The 1861 census described her asa Tayloress. In 1867 she married Alexander Sutherland (brother to Catherine, John’s wife). Alexander was a lumberman and justice of the peace. Phoebe was Alexander’s second wife. They lived in Upper Halcomb.
Stephen born 20 February 1840 and died after 1902. On the 1st April 1873 in the Parish of Blackville, he married Lucinda Blackmore, daughter of Thomas Blackmore and Phoebe Newman, Granddaughter of John Newman, Loyalist with the 2nd New Jersey Volunteers. They lived on Lot 5 at Lyttleton. They had three children.
