HYLAND, WILLIAM: was born in County Wicklow, Ireland circa 1805. The latest date known to be alive was 1883. He married Bridget Fardy (or Flaherty) on 20 November 1831 by Father William Dollard, missionary priest at Nelson, NB. William and Bridget settled in Sillikers, NB about 1833, where they raised their family.
William was a farmer and woodsworker and a parish overseer of fisheries. His wife, Bridget, a native of County Wexford, Ireland died on September 28, 1888.

Mary, born April 1833 and died after 1870. She married Martin Hynes.
Ann, born September 1834.
John, born May 1836 and died 13 February 1920 in Minneapolis at age 83. He married Mrs. Susan Kenyon Miller and resided in Stillwater, MI
Elizabeth, born April 1838 and died after 1866. She married John Haynes on 23 July 1866.
Margaret, born about 1840 and died after 1861.
Ellen, born May 1842 and died 30 September 1913. She married Daniel Estey (1835-1903). They are buried in St. Thomas RC Cemetery, Red Bank, NB.
Peter, born about 1845 and died after 1900. He lived in Stillwater , MN in 1870 and later married a young widow named Kate. They were recorded in the 1900 census as living at Clam Falls, Polk Co., MN.
Maria, born September 1847 and died after 1900. She married J. Lynch and moved to Gordon Township, Douglas Co., WI.
William, born 18 April 1850 and died 17 April 1944. He married Elizabeth Hallihan, daughter of John Hallihan and Catherine Brophy of Renous 3 September 1888. They raised a family of five on the original homestead site at Sillikers. Their descendants own the property today. Elizabeth was born in 1857 and died in 1942. They are buried at St. Thomas RC Cemetery, Red Bank, NB.
Richard born about 1852 and died 5 September 1939 in Lackawanna, New York, where he had lived for 40 years. He left a wife and daughter.
Bridget was baptised in 1853.
James, born April 1854 and died 1917. He married Ann McCarthy of Blackville. They settled in Gordon Township, Douglas Co, Wi where they raised seven children. Ann died in 1918. They are buried in Memorial Cemetery, Gordon, WI.
