FORSYTH, ROBERT: born most likely in PA, USA and died 1818-1819 in South Esk, NB. He married Jean/Jane Martin, daughter of William & Mary Martin in February 1788. She died after 17 February 1816 in South Esk. He received a crown grant of Lot 58, within the Micheau Survey between Newcastle and Bartibog in March 1788, but moved to South Esk in 1791 where he acquired Lot 2 from William Gordon in exchange for the down river lot. He held several parish offices over a period of more than twenty years. Robert and Jane are likely buried in The Enclosure, Wilson’s Point, Newcastle, NB.

Margaret Mary “Polly”, born c 1789 South Esk and died between 1861 and 1871 probably Boom Road area. She married 1st Daniel Whitney before 1809 in No Co. He was born about 1781 and died before 24 September 1814, North Esk. 2nd James F. Touchie / Tushie on 17 February 1817 in North Esk Parish. He was born about 1788 in No Co and died after 1877 in the Chatham area. Margaret had five children with Daniel Whitney before his untimely death, the result of a logging accident, and six children with James Touchie. James was a cooper by trade. In 1851 James and Mary were living at Boom Road with their son John and his family.
Ann, born c 1791 South Esk and died November 1791 in South Esk, NB, buried The Enclosure, Wilson’s Point.

Ann, born c 1793, South Esk, died after 1861. She married Francis Russell on 4 February 1813 in No Co. He was born about 1790 in Scotland and died 1874 in Point aux Carr, NB. He was a farmer/fisherman living Glenelg Parish, NB.
William, born c 1793 South Esk, died after 1837. He married Ann Lyons 16 January 1816 in Northumberland Co, NB. The family lived in the Red Bank area. William tried his hand at tavern keeping, lumbering and constable over the years. They had five children.
Elizabeth, born about 1795, South Esk, died about 1857 probably in South Esk Parish. She married Angus Fisher about 1817 in No Co. He was born about 1788 in PEI and died between 1861 and 1871 probably in South Esk Parish. Angus came from PEI about 1811. He purchased Lot 2 at South Esk from William Forsythe in 1816 and that is where he and Elizabeth raised their ten children. Angus was a lumberman/farmer/fisherman.
John, born c 1797, South Esk and died 6 April 1827. Unmarried.
Robert, born 7 September 1804, South Esk, died 13 March 1884, North Esk. He married Margaret McKinnon on 30 June 1831 by Rev. Samuel Bacon, Anglican Minister. She was born 15 September 1806, Glenelg Parish and died 11 February 1871. Robert and Margaret are buried at St. Stephen’s Presbyterian Cemetery, Red Bank. He was a farmer/lumberman and lumber surveyor. They had eight children.
Jane, born c 1807, South Esk, died after 1861. She married Hugh McKinnon (c1793-after 1871), in 1829, son of Gregor McKinnon and Jane Sharp of Glenelg Parish. Hugh was living in Kent County in 1871, as a widower. Jane and Hugh had eight children.
James Batey, born about 1809, Whitneyville, died 29 March 1891, Whitneyville. He married Mary Margaret Russell on 14 January 1840, No Co. She was born 22 August 1821 near Glasgow, Scotland and died 5 June 1907, Whitneyville area. James was in the lumber business together with his brother Robert in the 1830’s. They had eight children.
Mary Ann, born about 1812, died 12 January 1884, North Esk. She married John Menzies on 19 May 1831 in St. James Presbyterian Church Newcastle, NB. He was born 15 June 1797, James Town, Westerkirk Parish, Dumfriesshire, Scotland and died 27 April 1864 in North Esk, NB. John had emigrated from Scotland in June 1819. Mary Ann and John are buried in St. Stephen’s United (former Presbyterian) Cemetery, Red Bank, NB. They had thirteen children. There are still Menzie descendants living in the Whitney area.
