ESTY / ESTEY, DANIEL: was born in Massachusetts, USA and died between 1819 and 1826 in Northumberland County, NB, Can. He married Louisa Crowe in No Co, NB. She was born about 1771 in NB, Can and died between 1861 and 1871 in No Co. Daniel, along with George Hubbard in June 1791 petitioned for land. In it they state they were “natives of the American states” who had been residing on the Miramichi for 2 years and were employed in the masting industry. By 1819 Daniel owned Lots 12 and 13 at South Esk. There they raised their family.

John, born South Esk, died after 1833. John was a Surveyor of Lumber in North Esk between 1823 and 1833.
Louisa, born South Esk, died about 1846 in the Red Bank, NB area. She married Michael McKendrick on 2 November 1820 in No Co. He was born about 1796 in PEI, Can, and died 15 December 1870 in the Red Bank area. Michael was a leading lumberman in the area, held several parish appointments during his life and was Red Bank’s first postmaster. They raised their family of nine in the Red Bank area.
Richard, born South Esk, died after 1839.
Stephen, born South Esk, died 26 May 1813. He is buried at the Presbyterian Cemetery at Wilson’s Point, Derby Junction.
James, born 1791, South Esk, died 1875, Sevogle, NB. He married Margaret Welch/Walsh on 9 August 1825 at St. Patrick’s RC Church, Nelson, NB. She was born about 1806, County Cork, Ireland and died 4 July 1875, Sevogle, NB. James was a lumberman, was Hogreeve in 1835 and Overseer of Highways in 1848. The family, with at least fifteen children, lived in Sevogle. James and Margaret are buried in St. Thomas RC Cemetery, Red Bank, NB.
Daniel, born about 1799, South Esk, died about 1849 South Esk Parish, NB. He married Bridget Ward on 13 June 1925 in Northumberland County. He was born about 1807 and died after 1851. A lumberman, he held various parish offices during the 1830’s and 1840’s. They had at least thirteen children.
Peter, born about 1803, South Esk, died after 1871. Peter never married. He was the Parish Constable in 1827.
Ann, born about 1810, South Esk and died between 1861 and 1817. She married Malcolm McKendrick on 26 July 1831 in No Co. She was born about 1802 probably in PEI, and died between 1861 and 1871 likely at Red Bank, NB. The family lived at Red Bank and had four children.
