1824-<br /> ENGLISH, MICHAEL (MICK): born about 1824 in Port Laoise, Ireland and came to Canada with his mother and other members of the family in 1944. He was the son of George and Bridget English. The family was Roman Catholic. He met Ellen Murphy and they had a son. They did not marry.<br /> <br /> He married Catherine Murphy, daughter of Mark Murphy and Mary Synnott, on 22 November 1859 at St. Patrick’s RC Church, Nelson, NB. She was born February 1835 in Nelson and died 13 April 1909. Michael died 16 October 1908.<br /> <br /> There is a headstone in Malcolm Cemetery, Nelson, for Michael, age 84, and Catherine, age 73. Catherine also raised another son born to Michael, who arrived shortly after they were married.<br /> <br /> Date of Arrival: 1844 from Ireland

Michael, born 19 May 1860, Nelson.<br /> <br /> Michael & Bridget: Their Issue:<br /> <br /> Eliza, born 20 May 1860, Nelson died 5 November 1954. She married John Ivory on 19 June 1881. They are buried at Malcolm Cemetery, St Patrick’s RC Church, Nelson-Miramichi, NB<br /> <br /> Sara Ann, born 11 March 1862, Nelson. She married Richard Ronan on 14 January 1890. Dick was the son of Patrick Ronan and Mary Kent. They had at least eight children.<br /> <br /> Caroline Agnes, born 25 March 1864, Nelson died 26 June 1940. She married John Ahern on 16 September 1884. John was born in 1854 and died in 1930. They are also buried in Malcolm Cemetery. They had at least twelve children.<br /> <br /> George, born 27 October 1866, Nelson died 13 December 1949. He married Mary Burns. They are also buried in Malcolm Cemetery.<br /> <br /> Susan Mary, born 6 February 1870, Nelson. She married Daniel Desmond, son of James & Ellen Desmond in 1889.<br /> <br /> Mary Bridget, born 18 March 1873, Nelson.<br /> <br /> Martin, born 22 August 1875, Nelson died 19 January 1933. He married Loretta McEachern 27 April 1910. They had seven children.<br /> <br /> James, born 3 September 1876, Nelson.<br /> <br /> Laura, born 10 February 1878, Nelson died 23 February 1963. She married Peter Veriker on 3 November 1909. They are also buried at Malcolm Cemetery, Nelson.
