c1806-1883<br /> KELLY, PATRICK: was born in Ireland in 1809. He married Ann Cavinaugh, who was also born in Ireland in 1811. They came to Canada in 1835 and settled in Chatham Parish. Ann must have been pregnant during the voyage because their daughter Mary Ann was born in December 1835. Patrick died 16 December 1864. Ann is variously recorded in the census as living alone or with one of her daughters until her death at Chatham on 22 April 1892, at age 81. It has not been established whether Patrick was related to other Kelly families on the Miramichi.<br /> <br />

Discription of the issues related to this individual
Mary Ann, born in Chatham in December 1835, was baptised on Christmas Day of that same year. Baptismal sponsors were Patt Joice and Eliza Talons and the ceremony was officiated by Rev. Michael Egan. She married Richard Veriker on 9 June 1859. His uncle, Rev. Richard Veriker, performed the marriage. They had 6 children before Richard died in 1870. They resided in Nowlan Settlement. She was married a second time to John Leonard on 19 January 1874 and had two more children. Mary Ann died 5 February 1913 and is interred in St. Patrick’s RC Cemetery, Nelson, NB.<br /> <br /> Catherine, born about 1838. She married John Patterson, son of James and Bridget Patterson, on 8 July 1861 at St. Michael’s Roman Catholic Church in Chatham, NB. He was born in Ireland about 1836. Catherine’s date of death is unknown. They had 10 children.<br /> <br /> Patrick was the only son and was born about 1843. He died about age 24, on 9 December 1867. We have not determined if he was married at the time, but the possibility exists.<br /> <br /> Sarah was born about 1846. Nothing further is known about Sarah.<br /> <br /> Date of Arrival: from Ireland in 1935<br /> <br />
