Mungo Wilson was born in Dumfries, Scotland on December 12, 1782. He emigrated with his second wife and his family and settled in Napan, Northumberland County, N. B. He died in August 1866 and was buried in St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church Cemetery, Chatham. He married (1) Miss Moffatt in Scotland and (2) Mary Irving in Scotland before emigrating. Mary was born on January 13, 1798 and died on February 12, 1878.<br /> <br /> Date of Arrival: from Dumfries, Scotland c1820.<br /> <br />

Born c1811 Scotland; died June 19, 1846 in Dalhousie, N.B.<br /> <br /> (2) John Born in Scotland; died in 1834, having drowned in the Miramichi River. <br /> <br /> Children of Mungo Wilson and Mary Irving:<br /> <br /> (1) William Born May 3, 1822; died between 1891 and 1901. He married Ellen Mayes on July 18, 1854. They farmed and raised three children in Napan. The daughter of Robert and Margaret Mayes, Ellen was born on September 24, 1830 and died on March 4, 1909. They were Presbyterian.<br /> <br /> (2) Andrew Nothing is known about Andrew, who went to the United States.<br /> <br /> (3) Henry Born on May 30, 1830; died on November 22, 1900. He married Charlotte Lathern on October 26, 1851. She was born on May 30, 1830 and died on May 4, 1898. They moved to Lakeville, Carleton County, N. B. in 1856. They had at least four children. This family was Wesleyan Methodist.<br /> <br /> (4) Robert Born May 2, 1831; died on February 10, 1917 in Douglasfield, Northumberland County. He married Jessie McKnight on September 4, 1866. The daughter of Samuel McKnight and Isabella Kerr, Jessie was born on August 12, 1841 and died on May 4, 1898 in Centre Napan. Robert and Jessie had four children.<br /> <br /> (5) Isabella Born in 1833; died on March 20, 1869. She married Henry Mayes on January 5, 1855. The son of Robert Mayes and Margaret__________, Henry was born in 1826 and died March 16, 1899 in Chatham. Isabella and Henry had three children. Henry was a butcher. They were Presbyterian.<br /> <br /> (6) Mungo Born April 8, 1834; died in 1922. He married Avelinda Ganong on April 11, 1868. They had thirteen children in Lakeville, Wilmot Parish, Carleton County, N.B. Both Mungo and Evalinda were living in 1901, but Evalinda was not in the 1911 census. <br /> <br /> (7) Ann E. Born in 1839. She married John Stewart on November 21, 1866. In 1871 Ann and one son were recorded with Robert and Jessie Wilson in Chatham Parish.<br /> <br /> (8) Jane Born in 1841. She married William Gillis on January 24, 1866. The son of Alexander Gillis and Janet Davidson, William was born on February 20, 1838. They moved to the Wilmot Parish, Carleton County and raised nine children. William and Jane were both deceased by 1911. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />
