Brief summary
Patrick Quinn was born c1761 in Ireland and died at Little Black River, Northumberland County on August 10, 1838 at the age of 77. Patrick petitioned for land in 1829 and in 1830 received a grant of land, 200 Acres, at Little Black River, thirteen miles east of Chatham. On April 22, 1834, his barn, stable, and outbuildings were destroyed by fire. At the time, Quinn’s was the only place of accommodation for travelers between Chatham and Kouchibouguac, Kent County.

Discription of the issues related to this individual
(1) John Born c1806 Ireland. He petitioned for land in 1829 and received 100 Acres in 1831 and 200 Acres in 1836 in Glenelg Parish. On November 1, 1832 he married Catherine Dunn. They were not in the 1851 census.
(2) Timothy Born c1809 Ireland. On June 9, 1830 he married Catherine Ryan. After petitioning for land in 1830, on April 25, 1831 he received 200 Acres, Lots 89 and 90 in Northumberland County. They were not in the 1851 census.
(3) Nicholas Born c1816 Ireland; died June 23, 1854. He committed suicide on his farm on the Richibucto Road, Kent County.
(4) Edward Born c1817 Ireland; died October 29, 1899 in Wine River (near St. Margaret’s), Glenelg Parish. On August 14, 1845 he married Rose Conroy, born c1827. They raised thirteen children in Redmondville, Glenelg Parish.
Note: Ages of the sons were estimated based upon their being of “full age” when petitioning for land and appearance in the 1851 and 1861 censuses.
Note: The 1861 Kent Co. Census, Carleton Parish, has a Patrick Quinn born c1824 who might be part of this family. He married Mary Noonan/Donovan on May 3, 1847 in St. Louis R.C. Parish.
