Brief summary
Roderick MacKenzie was born in Scotland in 1808 and died in Black River Bridge, N.B. in 1893. He immigrated to this country in 1840 with his first wife and his son, John, from Aberdeen, Scotland. We are led to believe that Roderick’s first wife was a McLeod. Mrs. MacKenzie died around 1845. Roderick married his second wife, Isabella McDonald, on July 17, 1848. Isabella was the daughter of Alexander McDonald and Grace McAskill of Black River Bridge. Isabella was born in 1810 in Aeryol, Scotland. Roderick and Isabella were buried, along with the two youngest children, in St. Stephen’s Community Cemetery, Black River.
