Brief summary
Daniel Dunn was born 1754 in his native Ireland and immigrated to the ‘American States’. He was a veteran of the American Revolutionary War and arrived in New Brunswick in 1785 from Westchester, New York. He became a constable in 1789 and, later, overseer of fisheries in 1795. He gave an acre to build a school in his community. Reports indicate that the family had eight children, but the source cites that the four listed below are definitely this family, and the four others cannot be proved. Daniel died in 1823.

Discription of the issues related to this individual
(1) Clara Born c1780 in U.S. She was married July 17, 1806 to Andrew Ivory, an Irish fisherman who died July 20, 1810, aged about 40.
(2) John Born 1789 in N.B. On November 21, 1811 he married Bridget Power, the daughter of John Power* and Mary McCarthy. They lived in Blackville where they raised four children.
(3) Daniel Born 1792. He relocated, possibly to Quebec.
(4) Mary Born 1796. On 18 June 1818 she married Gilbert Young, born c1796 in Scotland. They raised eight children in Sunny Corner.
According to Old North Esk, the following children are reported to have been members of the family but this has not been proven:
(5) Gilbert He was living in 1824.
(6) Catherine Born about 1798; died September 1, 1872. She married Robert Pitt on July 16, 1818 and relocated to Quebec.
(7) James He was living in 1825.
(8) Anna “Nancy” Born c1807; baptized August 4, 1807. On January 6, 1824 she married Thomas Brooks and raised at least six children. Thomas was born c1798 in Scotland to Thomas Brooks, Sr. and Jane Wilson. He emigrated from Scotland to N.B. in 1819. He became a rope and sail maker in Northumberland County. Nancy and Thomas lived at various locations and died after 1871. They were R.C.
