Hannah (Ann) Culhane, wife of Cornelius Culhane, died February 8, 1860, and on December 8, 1860 he married Ann [Carney] Culhane. Culhane’s were Baptist; the Carroll’s were RC. In the 1861 census Cornelius was listed as RC, along with Ann. <br /> <br />

(1) William Born June 1835; baptized at St. Patrick’s R.C., Nelson; died after January 1917. He was a blacksmith. He married (1) Caroline Dudley on August 29, 1859 in Northumberland County. The daughter of John Dudley and Abigail Porter of Ludlow Parish, Caroline was born in 1839 and died c1870. They had four children. William was R.C. and Caroline, Baptist. William married (2) Mary McAdam (born April 9, 1848*) c1870 with whom he had at least four children. They were not in the 1881or 1891 Northumberland Co. census, but they appeared with three additional children in the 1901* census for Kent County. Gertrude was born in 1890 in Maine. <br /> <br /> (2) Mary Born c1837 in Blissfield; baptized at Howard, Northumberland County; died after 1917 Houlton, Maine. She married J. Anderson. <br /> <br /> (3) Michael Born July 18, 1839 in Blissfield; baptized at Howard; died after 1901. On July 1, 1863 he married Flora McDonald October 24, 1839-1901), daughter of John and Catherine McDonald of Blackville. Flora was working in the neighbourhood in 1861. They had at least one child. In 1891 and 1901 they were still living in Blissfield.<br /> <br /> (4) Sarah Ann Born c1843; baptized at Howard. On October 12, 1864 she married Alexander Beek, born June 7, 1841 to Joseph Beek and Ann F. Leslie of Ludlow Parish. They had eight children. Alexander died October 12, 1912 in Linneus, Maine.<br /> <br /> (5) Patrick Born c1843; baptized St. Patrick’s RC, Nelson.<br /> <br /> (6) Thomas Born August 20, 1845 in Blackville; died January 11, 1917 at Carroll’s Crossing, Northumberland County. On January 27, 1868 in Ludlow Parish he married Elizabeth McKinnon (1846-March 7, 1927), daughter of Charles McKinnon and Sarah Leach. Thomas was a farmer. They had fourteen children, and they were buried in St. John’s (Old) Anglican Cemetery, Carroll’s Crossing, Ludlow Parish.<br /> <br /> (7) Edward Born July 1847; baptized at St. Patrick’s RC, Nelson; died after 1888 in Minnesota. On February 25, 1878 he married Agnes Swim (1853-1888) in Stillwater, MN. They had four children. Byron was buried in John Carroll’s plot in Bayport, MN.<br /> <br /> (8) John Born c1850; baptized September 24, 1860 at St. Bridget’s RC Church, Renous, Northumberland Co.; died March 15, 1924 in Oak Park, MN; buried St. Michael’s Cemetery, Bayport, MN. On April 12, 1877 in Blackville he married Catherine McCormick, daughter of John and Elizabeth McCormick of Blackville. In 1891 they were living in Blackville; John’s age was 29, and Kate’s was 25. They had eight children.<br /> <br /> (9) James Born about February 1851; baptized at Howard January 3, 1852; died March 18, 1924 in Oak Park, MN; buried St. Michael’s Cemetery, Bayport, MN. He was a farmer. On September 21, 1877 he married Catherine Grace Colford (1855-1923). They had five children. <br /> <br /> (10) Charles Born March 1856 in Blissfield; died after January 1917 in MN. On September 24, 1884 in Washington County, MN he married Mary Louise Mermond (born c1858). They had two children.<br /> (11) Elizabeth Born September 4, 1858 in Doaktown, Northumberland Co.; baptized St. Bridget’s RC, Renous. She married T.C.S. Berry and lived in Houlton, Maine. She died September 27, 1928.<br /> <br /> (12) Daniel No further information.<br /> <br /> <br /> <br />
