SMALLWOOD, LEONARD ALBERT ALDREW: born 15 August 1846 in Prince Edward Island and died after 1901. He married 1st Susan Unknown, born about 1841 in NB, died between 1881 and 1883; 2nd Margaret B. Patterson on 19 April 1883 in Northumberland County, NB. She was born 19 January 1860, and died 23 August 1943, most likely Protectionville (Maple Glen), NB area.
Leonard, Susan and 4 year-old Ernest were living in North Esk Parish in 1881, where Leonard was listed as a farmer. Leonard and his 2nd family, as well as Ernest, were living and farming in Protectionville in 1901. There is a headstone for Margaret in Maple Glen United Cemetery.

Leonard and Susan - Their Issue:
Ernest Leonard, born 10 January 1877 (headstone states born 1887, 1901 census says born 1877, age 23), died 1965. He married Margaret May McCormick on 17 September 1901 in No Co. She was born 10 January 1882 and died 1962. They had at least five children. Ernest and Margaret are buried in Maple Glen United Cemetery.
Leonard and Margaret - Their Issue:
Harry, born 31 July 1884, Maple Glen area.
Charles William, born 28 October 1887, Maple Glen, NB, died 1970. He married Sarah (Belle) Sobey in July 1910 in Northumberland Co. She was born 13 July 1888, Maple Glen area and died 5 December 1945. They lived in the Protectionville area and had at least eight children. Charles and Belle are buried in Maple Glen United Cemetery, Maple Glen, NB.
Violet, born 1 July 1890, Maple Glen area.
Russell, born 10 April 1893, Maple Glen area.
David, born 15 August 1895, Maple Glen area, died 1957. He served with the CEF in World War I. He is buried in Maple Glen United Cemetery.
Lillian, born 14 February 1896, Maple Glen area.
