In 1955 church services in Chatham Head began in the public school on Old Ferry Road.On June 2, 1958, Father Patrice Doucet was appointed pastor of the new parish, formed from part of St. Patrick’s parish, Nelson.In July 1958 church building began and the first mass was celebrated Dec. 25, 1958, in the unfinished church. Mass continued in the school facility until Feb.1, 1959 when the new church was officially opened.<br /> <br />
