From the early part of the 19th Century, the church was a Methodist Church. (judging from dates in the cemetery). The original Methodist building was removed from the site, using horses and barrels, and moved down the highway a short way. It had a varied history after that – Forrester’s Hall and storage shed. The present church was built in the 1890’s and dedicated on March 19, 1893. In 1925 it became a United Church. This church has been part of the Douglastown United Church charge.<br /> <br /> The last service for Derby United was August 25 2019. Actually, the church was not used after October 2012. Instead, the church manse was used as a church until August 2019. Derby United was torn down September 24 2019.
