From approximately 1875 to 1900 there existed in Chatham a reformed Episcopal church. In 1875 land was donated by Caleb McCulley for such a church as well as a burial ground. Money was raised in Chatham and Newcastle and the church was erected on the west corner of Cunard and Wellington Streets, and opened for service in 1877. This church never had a large congregation and by the middle of the 19th Century ceased to be active. The church building, after 1900, was used for other purposes.<br /> <br />
