St. George’s Presbyterian was built in 1911-1912 on land donated by Nancy Vickery and dedicated in 1912. In 1925 St. George’s became a member of the United Church of Canada.<br /> <br /> By the 1990’s the St. George’s congregation had decreased and it was becoming more and more difficult to maintain the church. A decision was made on July 10, 1994, to sell the church building. The buyer was Kenneth St. Germain who moved the building to 9494 Rte. 8 across from his home. It then became a restaurant and pub. Later it was sold again to Doreen Bamford and was rented by Miramichi Valley Composites Inc., manufacturing fibreglass products when it burned under suspicious circumstances.
