Trinity United Methodist was built in the 1893, but a Methodist presence was there much before that, as early as the 1860’s.<br /> <br /> In 1925 Trinity voted to join the United Church of Canada and changed its name to Trinity United. Between 1925 and 1939 there existed two United Churches, Trinity and St. Thomas, in Doaktown. Sunday services were held, for a number of years, in Trinity in the morning and St. Thomas in the evening.<br /> <br /> In 1939 Trinity was sold to Francis Curtis, who turned it into a private home. The building, located on Rte. 8 through Doaktown and almost across from Bett’s Canteen, was then purchased by the Reformed Baptist Church and later by the Doaktown Wesleyan to be used as a rectory. <br /> <br /> On November 2, 2009, it burned to the ground under mysterious circumstances.
