Holy Name of Mary was the Catholic Church in Blissfield; Our Lady of Lourdes was the Catholic Church in Doaktown. It was decided in the 1980’s, mainly for economic reasons, that a new church complex (Church and Family Center) would be built to accommodate the two congregations. Thus, Our Lady of the Annunciation Church was built in the area known as MacDonald Woods, Doaktown, and officially blessed and dedicated on Monday, April 18, 1991. Holy Name of Mary Roman Catholic Church was torn down in 1991. Our Lady of Lourdes Roman Catholic Church was sold and is now a dental clinic.<br /> <br />
