Church history

Paragraph that details some of the information about this church.
Rev. James Tozer, a Baptist missionary in Northumberland County in the 1800’s, was responsible for the organization of many of the Baptist churches on the South West Miramichi. After the building of the Doaktown Meeting House, he organized the Upper Blackville as well as the Blissfield Baptist Churches
.
The Blissfield United Baptist Church was built in 1865 on land donated by Andrew Green. It ministered to the Blissfield congregation for over 100 years. Eventually declining membership led to the closure of the church. At the time of its closure, it was part of the Blissfield-Doaktown Field. Earlier, in 1976, there had been two other Baptist churches, Ludlow and Carroll’s Crossing, in this Field.
Blissfield Baptist was used again as a church in 2006 when the Miramichi Valley Church (Southern Baptist) occupied it that year prior - to their buying their present building in 2007.
The building was demolished in October 2008.
