The land for St. Anne’s Roman Catholic Church was purchased by the parish priest of Escuminac in 1910 for $150; he realized the distance the people of Baie Ste. Anne travelled for services.<br /> <br /> It was decided the church should be a brick one and the process of building it was a 20 year one. By 1915 the exterior was completed and couples were being married in the entry was of the unfinished interior.<br /> <br /> With the building of this church, the Parish of Baie Ste. Anne was created and included Escuminac and Hardwicke. Later, when St Anne’s became part of the Moncton Diocese, Escuminac church was deconsecrated and sold. Now the only Catholic church in that area is St Anne’s.<br />
