Church history
*
Paragraph that details some of the information about this church.
Part of the Diocese of St. Francis of Assissi.

The Diocese of Bathurst’s website indicates that the church in Legaceville was established in
1907. That church, as well as the presbytery, was destroyed by lightning on August 15 1947. The
buildings were replaced and the new church was officially opened August 29, 1949 by Bishop C. LeBlanc of Bathurst. In preparation for the construction, which began June I 1948, parishioners had evacuated the basement and produced 100,000 feet of cut and sawn lumber. Services were being held in the unfinished church by May of 1945.
