Church history
*
Paragraph that details some of the information about this church.
The village of Collette, named for the first colonist Hosea Collette, developed as a result of the building of the Intercolonial railway. Acadiens, mainly from PEI, Madapedia and Richibucto came to the area to work and stayed to build a community.
The parish prieist of Rogersville was Rev. Marcel Francois Richard and it was under his guidance that a church for the new setters was built at Collette in 1914 and named Ste. Jean-Baptiste.
In 1954, the church suffered damage from lightning. It was restored and had a basement and sanctuary added.
In 1954 (November 28th), Collette became an autonomous parish and the name of the church was changed to Notre-Dame du Fatima.
