Church history

Paragraph that details some of the information about this church.
1850 is the date given for the beginning of the Presbyterian Church in Red Bank. For the next 15 years Presbyterianism in Red Bank flourished. The church built about 1850 was replaced by a larger one in 1906; this new church was destroyed in the 1923 Red Bank Fire. Rebuilding began almost immediately and the new church was dedicated in August of 1924. Before the new church was built there were discussions on the union of Presbyterian, Methodist and Congregationalist congregations in Canada. In 1925 when the vote was taken, St. Stephen’s Presbyterian voted to join the new United Church of Canada. For those who chose to remain Presbyterian, there was now no church. Almost immediately people began to reorganize and plan a new Presbyterian Church. In the meantime they held services in the Orange Hall in Sunny Corner. In 1929 land was purchased in Boom Road for a cemetery. The new church was begun and completed in Sunny Corner in 1930 on land donated by Mr. and Mrs. Allen Tozer. Over the years a new addition was make to the church, the graveyard was enlarged and a vault was built. Since 1925 this Sunny Corner church has ministered to Presbyterians in Whitney, Sillikers, Warwick, Derby, Millerton, McKinleyville as well as Sunny Corner. Today it is part of a two point charge of Sunny Corner and Warwick.
